Assateague 2008
Almost 200 photos here. Wed - Sunday. This year Dolly and Joe's truck got hit by lightning during a thunderstorm on the way down. In the campsite, we also had a storm and strong wind the first night, but after that the weather turned perfect. No horse damage. Norm and Carolyn had the only working zipper on their screen house facing the bay. We all agreed that was inconvenient. New concrete bathrooms and showers replaced the portajohns and open showers. But one of our best years ever, nonetheless!
Here are the photos in a slide show.

July Random Photos
DFL and Von went to see the Phillies, but they were sold out. Sharon and Von still had a nice reunion!
Jogging this morning I came across this raccoon. He must have seen the car coming, because his eyeballs actually popped out of his head. You can see more gruesome road kill here.
With teanage drives in the house, I often get to sit in the back seat!

Jody's Penn Dot job
Jody, my son home from college this summer, has a job with Penn Dot. He told me that he was clearing vegetation, on a certain road, so I took that way in to work one morning last week. (He starts at 5:45am)
Here is the approach...
They don't seem to be on break!
There's a crew! When I showed the photo to Jody, he identified himself as the guy right in the middle halfway up the bank.
He likes his job, other than the terrible poison ivy.

Bringing in the Sheaves
The Amish farms on Eby Chiquies Road harvested the wheat last week. I learned my parents hauled a carload over to help out!
Summer means the blue chickory is blooming.
