Canada

We went to Canada (...well, Quebec, actually) for Shakti and Andrew's wedding this past weekend. Here are the photos - click on the picture below to go directly to the Picasa album. Here's the slideshow, if you prefer that.

Annisa at Girl Scout Camp

Annisa went to two Girl Scout Camps this summer. Here she is getting checked in at camp Small Valley. They inspect for head lice and athlete's foot. Annisa has a bag constantly packed with her personal items because she is spending so much time away from home. Two Girl Scout Camps, two weeks or parts of weeks with Nana on Mark's farm, and camping with us.

Boating

On Saturday we went boating with some friends on Lake Clarke in their 23 foot Yamaha twin-engined jet boat. A full screen slide show is here, and a small one is below. Also, a video.

Assateague 2008

Almost 200 photos here. Wed - Sunday. This year Dolly and Joe's truck got hit by lightning during a thunderstorm on the way down. In the campsite, we also had a storm and strong wind the first night, but after that the weather turned perfect. No horse damage. Norm and Carolyn had the only working zipper on their screen house facing the bay. We all agreed that was inconvenient. New concrete bathrooms and showers replaced the portajohns and open showers. But one of our best years ever, nonetheless!

July Random Photos

DFL and Von went to see the Phillies, but they were sold out. Sharon and Von still had a nice reunion!

Jogging this morning I came across this raccoon. He must have seen the car coming, because his eyeballs actually popped out of his head. You can see more gruesome road kill here.

With teanage drives in the house, I often get to sit in the back seat!

Jody's Penn Dot job

Jody, my son home from college this summer, has a job with Penn Dot. He told me that he was clearing vegetation, on a certain road, so I took that way in to work one morning last week. (He starts at 5:45am)

Here is the approach...

They don't seem to be on break!

There's a crew! When I showed the photo to Jody, he identified himself as the guy right in the middle halfway up the bank.

He likes his job, other than the terrible poison ivy.
