Sept 11

Today Isaac's employees in Harrisburg helped out for the the "Day of Caring". We painted a huge room in a church/community center.

Later, I took Sasha and Annisa to the Hempfield Football game, in the COLD rain. We beat Garden Spot convincingly. Much better than our flat first game against CV.

Sept 10

This was parents' back to school night at Hempfield. Sharon and I got to go through Annisa's schedule for a day, with 12 minutes in each room. Annisa gave us her locker combination, and we were surprised to find it neat and sparse.

But upon close inspection we did find clues that this was actually Annisa's locker.

Sept 9

It was raining on my way home from work tonight.


After the rain, the tree crickets came out in all their glory. Here is a video that is mainly audio. I really like tree crickets.

Von is heading back to NYC tonight. He just moved in to a new apartment last week, and he just learned two of his new roommates have H1N1. He's trying not to rub his eyes.

Sept 7

Jody and I ran 14 miles today in preparation for the Harrisburg half marathon next week. Jody has some weird "barefoot shoes" that he wears for running. He subscribes to a theory about natural running, and right now it seems to be working for him.

Mark, Elizabeth and Maya came over tonight. Also, Von came home for a few hours.

Sept 5

Tonight Sharon and I went Ballroom Dancing with the Starlight Club at Green Valley Country Club in Sinking Spring. The Starlight is fun, because it's old people who dance slow, and it's not black-tie. We had a nice date night! This event is worth TWO pictures! I like Sharon's halo in the first one!
