Von and Jody were home last weekend, so we partook in one of our favorite traditions: soft boiled eggs.

Only two eggs from 24 were left over!

My mom wrote that these videos "brought back many memories of breakfasts on St. Michael's Road. And then there was the time when Jody spent an over night at our house on Southview. At breakfast time I asked him what he wanted and he said he likes soft-boiled eggs. He then added that at his house they eat them in egg cups. I don't think it occurred to him that we might also have egg cups. I took him to the cupboard and left him choose the cup he wanted for his eggs. Glad to see you carrying on the tradition. It's a yummy one."

It's one of my favorite traditions!

Assateage Get Together

Yesterday we had our traditional Assateague get-together in Doylestown. Jim is superintendent of the Doylestown Cometary, so I got some photos there.

These kids used to be little shrimps.

Here is another way to use photo stitching: move your human subjects in to each frame. I thought doing this in the cometary made some sort of sense. Call it "Ghosts in the Graveyard."

History

Thanks, David, for this photo! If I recall correctly, this was in Malindi. From left to right it's David, Paul, Dad, Me, the fisherman, and Pierre.

When we pulled the fish up beside the boat, one of the fisherman put on big leather gloves and grabbed the sailfish by the snout, and the other one clubbed the fish on the head a few times with a big wooden bat to kill it. It was kind of brutal.

I was extremely seasick.

March Sites

Today I stopped off on my run to see where Grandma and Grandpa Charles are buried.

More Snow Geese

Here are some more snow Geese photos. Annisa and I raced up after I got off work. I thought we would be too late, but it all worked out perfectly.

Snow Geese

Tonight Annisa and I went up to Middlecreek to see the snow geese. We were perfectly positioned on the path when the flook took to the air and headed for the lake!

Feb 29 Sunset

Here's the Feb 29 sunset from my office window.
