Health Care Prediction

Between you and me and this blog, I have a prediction about the Supreme Court's upcoming ruling on the health care law.
They will over rule it in its' entirety, and maybe even go broader.  Like making comments about Medicare, or something crazy like that.
This court put George Bush in office, then ruled that corporations are people and now decided that unions aren't.  There is no way they'll have anything to do with this law.
And the monied people with their fingers in the till will have triumphed once again.
My hope is that this will revive the single payer movement, but it will take a LONG time and be a fierce battle against powerful interests.

June 16 Running

This morning Jody and I went on nice slow run through the country.  It was just about perfect.

Cotton Candy AND the Chocolate Wunderfall!

So it seems Golden Corral, that "all you can eat buffet" place,  Has figured out an even better way to feed us sugar.  No need to disguise it in a Coke or in ketchup, in a Chocolate Wonderfall, or some type of baked product.  Just feed it to us directly as sugar, and call it sugar!


I find something nauseating about this.

 

Current reading

Here are two books I am currently reading.  I was well in to First Peoples in a New World, which I received as a gift from Mark and Elizabeth, when my Dad dropped off his new book, As the Wind Blows.  I'm about halfway through each book.

The books are different, but the same.  They both deal with interesting ideas and hypotheses about immigrants to the New World.

I recommend them both.  Dad's book is fast paces and tightly written.  Sort of Hemingwayesq, when Hemingway was any good.
