See the black rubber watch that I'm wearing? I found it in a drawer the other day, and took it to Mandy at Radio Shack, and she replaced the battery. It worked! I bought a band, and now I wear it! I think it's an original Timex Ironman. Actually, probably a 2nd generation. It's the first design that had a good functional form factor with the way the buttons were protected from accidental movement during sports.
OK, so the little guy on the left is is moving to Manhattan this summer, and getting an apartment all by himself. He has a real job, and everything. The little guy is an original, as well. No improvements were needed for his design.

My House
My house has tons of problems on the Western side.
1. I have some big green poplar logs that are too green to split, and too heavy to move. Help!
2. The gutter got iced up and fell off (And I'm too much of a wimp to climb an extension ladder and try to fix it when it's 22 degrees. Plus, those huge logs are in the way!)
3. And now an Arborvitae tree fell down.
My Dad would never have let all this happen when he owned the house!
I wonder if I could do an amputation of the entire Western side?

When I was a kid
Here are a couple of photos from when I was a kid.
A Sunday School teacher found these in one of the lesson plans at the Unitarian Church in Lancaster, and she mailed them to me. I guess I left them in there one year when I was a teacher. I wonder how she identified me, come to think of it.
Hmm... I always make my kids hold up their age on their fingers on their birthdays, like I am doing here.

More February Photos
This morning the Nolt's Ponds property looked serene, covered in a glaze of snow. The roads had icy patches, but I kept upright during my entire run despite some awkward arm-flailing.
The QVC building reminded me of the big Rock near Bukaroba that we called "The Ship Rock." This is East Hempfield's version!

Count the cats!
Here is a stitched photo tonight. Notice the grey cat, Gunda, didn't heed my instructions to keep still. She shows up twice, making us look like crazy cat people!
Carol Birthday Month Bowling
We went bowling last weekend to celebrate Carol's Birthday! Here is my slide show. Sharon was photographer, so there are no photos of her.

Feb 20 - Real Cold!
This morning was unbelievabley cold. I ran in to a strong headwind for the first 1.5 miles. I thought I would die! But, sorry, I made it. Here are some dawn photos.

Balmy February
Today the weather was warm. It's supposed to hit 64 degrees, and thunderstorm. I was pleased to run in short pants for a change! Here I am running in all my happiness!

Frosty Sunday Morning
I saw a lot of interesting stuff on my run this morning. Here is a field of corn stubs with frost on it.
Here is a grassy stream bed. Two days ago it was flooded with rushing water. Today it is glistening with frost. Notice that the sun photograph's as a black dot in the middle left in the sky (and you can see it in the photo above as a black dot way over on the left.)
I came across a squirrel with crushed hindquarters. I don't have much feeling for squirrels, but I did put him out of his misery. I know a scared squirrel can be vicious, and bite off a thumb with those big teeth, but this guy didn't seem to have any fight left. He just gave himself over to the big heavy foot from the sky.
I woman, who I often see walking while I'm running, saw what was going on, and said the squirrel was "lucky" that I came along. I guess so. But I think if Mr. Squirrel would have written an essay called "My Lucky Day," he would have given it a somewhat different story line.
I saw this interesting tree.
And an orange peel.

Annisa had a sleepover with 7 friends. They stayed up until the wee hours of the morning.
