I'm getting a little allergic to these sub-20 mornings.

26 and still going strong!

WHOOPS! See Sharon's correction to my math, down in the comments!!

26 years ago, on Superbowl Sunday, Jan 25, Sharon and I were married!

For many years, like most things in our lives, Sharon and I had a lively debate about whether our anniversary is actually January 25, or Super Bowl Sunday.

Then, during that fateful season of 2001, the NFL suspended the season for one week, and moved the Super Bowl from the last Sunday in January to the first Sunday in February. The move became permanent.

So, Sharon and I now celebrate both dates, and the days in between! We have Anniversary week!

Here's our photo from wedding day.

This was the cover of our program for the wedding. It's a contour line drawing I did of Sharon.
This was the inside of the program.

This was the back of the program - a drawing Sharon did of me!

Posted with love!

I am looking forward to 26 more years! I love you, Sharon Rose.

Fun with Computers!

My old laptop broke down awhile ago, so I got a new Dell a couple of weeks ago. It's an entry level Latitude E5400 with a Celeron processor. Not state of the art, but it works really well for me! My latest fun was to turn it in to a dual boot machine that can run Linux or Windows.

It's running Windows XP Pro (still available from Dell), and Ubuntu Linux 8.1. I also have a third partition that is FAT32 that both OS's can see.

Sweet!

Cold Running

On Saturday I took a run when it was really really cold. I wore double gloves and all the rest. Running into the wind was murder!

Isaac's News

I have an update on my job at Isaac's. We have reorganized our leadership, and starting in February, I will be stepping down from being President, and taking on the role of Senior Manager of Information Technology and Administration. Phil Wenger is taking over as President and CEO. There are five of us who will have the "Senior Manager" title, all working directly for Phil.

This is a big change for me, but it's a change I eagerly anticipate. The company will be much better served with this arrangement because it matches the skills of each of us to the needs and opportunities presented in the company.

On a personal level, I couldn't be more happy. I am a team player and collaborator, and this new job gets me smack dab in the middle of the people and projects that I enjoy.

I regret that I wasn't a better President for the company, but while I was in the job, nine days out of ten I didn't enjoy what I had to do. So I'm happy to move on! Some people are born for that challenge, but not me.

I like my job again, and that feels REAL GOOD!
