I am inviting any of my Blog readers to participate in Isaac’s "Bag Hunger Soup Fund" during the month of April. We are committed to raising at least $50,000 for Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, helping them meet the growing demand for food caused by the current economic crisis.
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) is sort of like the "United Way" of food. They are a central spot for food collection and redistribution. They are able to take each $1 donated and turn it in to $15 worth of food, which goes to local food pantries and soup kitchens throughout our area. The food pantry at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Landisville, which my Rotary Club supports by serving the Thursday evening meal 4 times each year, is a member organization of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
This is a multi-pronged Fund Drive. Isaac’s will be donating $1 for every soup item sold in April. In addition, we are inviting our employees and customers to donate, and our employees are organizing competitions, by store, to see who can raise the most money through soup sales and pledges they are collecting from family and friends.
I would be very grateful if you could join our efforts by making a donation. No amount is too small! Please make your check payable to CPFB – Isaac’s Bag Hunger Fund, and mail to:
Isaac’s Restaurant & Deli
354 N. Prince Street, Ste. 220
Lancaster, PA 17603
Or, if you would prefer to make a donation on Line, you can use this link at the CPFB web site. (Drop me a note if you choose this method -- I am ALSO part of our employee contest!)
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Alan
