I've been a bad drywall finisher all my life. I try and try, but the more I work it, the worse it turns out. I usually spread my drywall out of one of these trays.
However, in my most recent round of dry walling, I discovered a secret. You need one of these!
This makes all the difference! I had a wall where the wallpaper pulled off the drywall paper, so I needed to skim coat the whole thing. I only took about 4 coats/passes, and the wall turned out great!

OK, Alan. This kind of nails it. You need a place where you can piddle around with projects and keep learning stuff. As always, yell if there's any way I can help -- I really could come wash windows..... Love you, jane
