Assateague 2007

Click here to see some photos from Assateague 2007. If you are in one of these photos, and you don't want to be, just send me an email, and I'll delete the photo.

This year we got Site #1, always our most coveted site.
We had one thunderstorm go past out in the ocean.
One night we had horrible wind, followed by rain.
The mosquitoes were bad if you got near a bush or a dumpster.
We discovered the Assateague Market is for sale for $1.4 Million.
We didn't do the Crab House, but we bought a half bushel and brought them to the island.
Dave had a $400 bike wheel destroyed when it came off on Rt. 1.
Kelly put apples in the green salad!
Jane's tent was destroyed by wind.
Susan swore "never again" to camp on the beach.
Horses walked through Norm and Carolyn's screen house, making their own doors.
We found a Tern nesting area down in the ORV section.
Dolly and Joe took me on a 14 mile run. (We did 10/30s - Run 10 minutes, walk 30 seconds). (Here is Dolly's running blog, BTW)
We had a good clamming expedition - so good that we were throwing back the big ones!
No one went to the hospital.
No one lost a wallet.
It was a fabulous year!

You forgot to mention that we had a sand storm and survived. We also found a stinky sturgeon head on the beach. Most importantly, the kids made a fabulous kids breakfast!!! Unfortunately, we only had 9 hours when we were all together. Zel, Scott, Mandy, and Susan all had to leave on Saturday. Jim, Kathy, and the kids arrived late Friday night. Our next Assateague gathering is scheduled for Labor Day weekend Sunday. Alan and I are hosting. We can't wait to see you all again. - Sharon
